Early registration begins November 3rd for UPWARD basketball and cheerleading
The early registration cost per child for basketball or cheerleading is $60; after November 25, the cost is $65.
Deadline for registration is December 2. Please open and print the brochure below for basketball or cheerleading. Registration forms can be mailed, dropped off at church, faxed to the church at 810-695-5117, or emailed to msly33@sbcglobal.net
Evaluations and registration for Upward --
Reminder, that evaluations and registration for Upward Basketball and Cheerleading will be Monday, November 24th from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. for kindergarten through 2nd grade; and Tuesday, November 25th from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. for 3rd through 6th grade. Cheerleaders can register on either night. Practice will begin the week of January 5th. For more information contact the Church Office 810-695-0550.
Sunday Morning Bible Study 9am -- Sunday at 9am, join us for Disciples I Bible Study. Pastor Max Hayden will begin the Introduction to the Old Testament. Everyone is welcome, no child care will be available.
Scrapbook with Us (second Friday night of each month) -- Come scrapbook with us on second Friday of each month from 6pm to midnight! Cost is $10 per person with Sizzix die cuts available for sale or use the Sizzix die cut machine and dies for a nominal fee. Refreshments of coffee and dessert will be served. Proceeds to benefit the Capital Campaign. Future dates will be on second Friday of every month. Questions, call Dottie Fletcher at 810-695-2531. Sign up for an adult "Just for Fun" bowling league! has started and is held from 6:00-8:30 -- Held at Grand Blanc Lanes! We play the last Saturday of each month for eight months. Contact Tracey Loomis at 695-0550 for more information.
Christmas Shoe Boxes Starting November 7th --
It's that time of year to think about all the needy children around the world and fill a shoebox with special toys and treats as part of "Samaritan's Purse Operation Christmas Child". The plastic shoeboxes must be returned by Sunday November 23rd. Along with the gifts and a prayer, please include a check for $7.00 payable to "Samaritans Purse" to cover the postage. Community Food Baskets -- Our church is sponsoring 12
F.I.S.H. families this holiday season with food baskets. There are 10 parishable items that are put in the food baskets, along
with canned goods. We invite our church families to support this
outreach ministry in our neighborhood, by bringing in food by Thursday November 20th. For more information, contact Marty Royer at 810-694-6315.
Purchase Choir Seat -- The most recent project of selecting new choir chairs has been completed. These chairs are solid wood, with a pecan-on-oak finish, and an upholstered and padded seat cushion. We expect the chairs to arrive as the renovation work is finished. Your financial support is needed to cover the cost. Please consider helping seat our choirs by purchasing a chair for $160. Checks or cash can be dropped in the collection plates or the church office, or placed in the mail. Indicate on the memo line of the check ‘choir chair.’
Quilt Raffle -- A beautiful 69” by 50” quilt is being raffled off by the Art Guild. Proceeds will go to the Capital Campaign. Tickets are two for $5.00 or five for $10.00. Please see Co-Chairs Shirley Wells, Dorothy Urogdy, or any of the Art Guild Members. Drawing will be held at the end of November.
Toddlercise every Thursday at 10am (2 yr olds) and 10:30 (3-4 yr olds) -- This program begins September 18th. It will be held in the Christian Life Center. This is a music and movement class for children 2-4 years old. Contact Jamie with any questions at 810-695-1967.
North End Soup Kitchen
Volunteer at the soup kitchen with other congregation members monthly on Sunday's. For each Sunday our church is scheduled, six volunteers are needed. Members leave the church at 10:00am and return at 2:30pm. If you are able to serve please contact Dorothy Urogdy at 810-694-1225. The soup kitchen is located at 735 E Stewart ave Flint, MI 48505 between Billings st and Crissman st. The Soup Kitchen can be contacted at (810) 785-6911 to donate goods.

Shop at Meijer grocery store and earn money for the church. Sign up online at meijer.com/rewards or call 1-800-962-7011 for a community rewards card. The church also has the sign up package in the office. Just swipe the card when checking out at the store to earn money for the church. You need this 6-digit code 234683 when signing up to have rewards go to First Congregational United Church of Christ.
Emergency Aid Fund
Remember our disadvantaged neighbors during the year. Contribute generously to our Emergency Aid fund to help individuals in our local community and in our congregation. Contact the church office about donating at (810) 695-0550.
