Sister Circle --You Are Invited to our Sister Circle! The Sister Circle is the fresh new exciting women’s ministry that is forming at First Congregational Church. Come get to know this fabulous group of women as we talk about our life and faith issues. Take some time for yourself and enjoy all the fun, fellowship, and food we have to offer!

When: The 1st and 3rd Tuesday of every month beginning March 2nd at 7:30

Where: First Congregational Church gathering room

PRAYER-A-THON February 17th -- To begin the Lenten Season, we will be having our third annual
prayer-a-thon on Ash Wednesday February 17, 2010. The prayera-thon will be 12 hours from 7:00 a.m. until 7:00 p.m. We would like to have a greeter staff each hour, to welcome those coming to participate. If you would like to sign up to be a greeter, or to sign up for a specific hour as a prayer participant, you may do so in the
Fellowship Hall. Please plan to take time on Ash Wednesday to join in this time of meditation and prayer.

BEAUTY AND THE BEAST -- The Fellowship Team is also planning a trip to the Whiting on Feburary 24th to see Beauty and the Beast. Christy Bearden is taking reservations for this event.

Unemployment Transition Group -- The date of the next meeting has changed from  February 18th to the 25th.

UPWARD SCHOLARSHIPS -- There are 10 children in the Upward Basketball and Cheerleading program in need of a scholarship. If you would like to sponsor a child in the program, please make a check out to FCUCC for $70 with Upward Scholarship in the memo, and drop it off in the church office. Thank you in advance for your support of this important ministry.

CALLING ALL CHURCH FAMILY -- The Construction Zone is doing a project in Sunday School and we
need your help! We need pictures of our church family. If you have any you are willing to donate, please give them to Tracy Loomis.

S.H.A.R.E. Group -- A new service/fellowship group was formed. Its mission is to provide a helping hand around the church, reach out to people in need in the community and to enjoy some fellowship time
together. SHARE stands for Samaritans Helping and Reaching Out and Eating. Although still in the formative stages, SHARE has been meeting the first Monday of the month at 10am to work on a project at church.
Please feel free to check us out. Contact Owen Mooney for further information. To date, the projects have been to put up and take down the church’s Christmas decorations and to build some shelving in the storage room in the Christian Life Center. Lunch and a short meeting usually follow work.  Anyone, of any age, that has a little free time during the day that you can “share,” please join us and become a Samaritan.

Men's Basketball Sunday Nights

Adult Spiritual Growth Opportunities
Bible Study. These classes are 32-week discussions of our biblical faith. Each class will have a study manual with weekly readings in the scriptures as will as the study book.  We will again offer two classes: Disciples II—Into the Word Into the World - 9:15 Sunday mornings.   New Bible Study
Class Begins “Unbinding the Gospel...Real Life Evangelism” is the new Bible study class beginning this Tuesday at 10 AM. The class is an eight week study and will be lead by Pastor Jake. Everyone is welcome and
encouraged to attend. Call the church office (695-0550) if you are interested in any adult
classes.


Toddlercise class meets Thursday 10am -- Classes are every Thursday in the gym. The two-year-old class starts at 10 AM and incorporates music and movement skills, bean bag games, parachute and instrument playing. The pre-school class starts at 10:30 and involves games that incorporate listening skills, large motor activities, obstacle courses, music and more! are encouraged to stay and participate fully. Come as often as you like and bring your friends and neighbors - the program is free. Call Jamie with any questions 695-1967. Hope to see you there!

North End Soup Kitchen   Volunteer at the soup kitchen with other congregation members monthly on Sunday's. For each Sunday our church is scheduled, six volunteers are needed. Members leave the church at 10:00am and return at 2:30pm. If you are able to serve please contact the church office at 810-695-0550.  The soup kitchen is located at 735 E Stewart ave Flint, MI 48505 between Billings st and Crissman st.  The Soup Kitchen can be contacted at (810) 785-6911 to donate goods.

Shop at Meijer grocery store and earn money for the church. Sign up online at meijer.com/rewards or call 1-800-962-7011 for a community rewards card.  The church also has the sign up package in the office. Just swipe the card when checking out at the store to earn money for the church. To earn points you need to use cash, debit or Meijer Credit Card (use of other credit cards do not earn points effective 2007). You need this 6-digit code 234683  when signing up to have rewards go to First Congregational United Church of Christ.


VG’s Receipts "Community Share Points" --  We all search for ways to help our church in any way we can. Our
church is now signed up at VG’s to earn money through the collection of “Community Share Points.” For
those that shop at VG’s the points are found at the bottom of your receipt under the bar code and will say “Community Share Points and have a number beside it. Please save that portion of the receipt and place it in the Care & Nurture box. Dottie Fletcher will send them in. Dottie’s daughter donated her points and a check for over $800 is in the mail. Please save your receipt bottoms, a little piece of paper can go along way.

Emergency Aid Fund

Remember our disadvantaged neighbors during the year. Contribute generously to our Emergency Aid fund to help individuals in our local community and in our congregation. Contact the church office about donating at (810) 695-0550.
